ReplyDeleteI was reading and listening the learning english video project and I liked very much this sentence "Every thing is possible as long as you put your mind in it". This people was talking about learning english. Maybe we can feel embarras when we speak in english because we make grammar mistakes or because we don't understand native speakers easily or maybe because we have studied english for years and when it's time to speak we feel nervous and shy but if we study hard we can improve our english level. When I listened the people at the videos I could see most english learners have the same problems like us.It was very interisting to listen them talking about their experiences, goals and achievments as english learners,I learnt very much about their experiences.

This activity has been one of the most interesting tools I have seen in the course for me as a teacher. I enjoy it a lot, because I am really interested in improving my speaking, so to have the opportunity to listen to different speakers is very exciting for me, and I can pass hours in front of the computer learning and taking pleasure of every single activity. Thanks, for helping us to improve our daily work.

ReplyDeleteI was listening and reading the project "video project" i can see that these people learn english and they practice it because they need work or study in this language. I need this practice to work in good way. I like the technological tools that we use in this course.

It is necessary to learn english developing all its abilities because nowadays english becomes more and more important around the world.
ReplyDeleteStudents don´t learn easily if we just limit to teach grammar so it is better to be more practical, teaching it into a real context. The videos made me realize that we have to change our old methods if we want that students learn better.

ReplyDeleteI find great activities, we learn playful and develops mental skills like deduction, classification, association, exercise the memory among others. I could practice with the eighth grade only two activities (for lack of computers) Hangman Game to remember vocabulary of fruits, colors and verbs in the present, also free for 20 troubles.Estas cloze quizzes loved it. Thank you very much for sharing such a wonderful very effective material to motivate students and improve their learning meaningful

ReplyDeleteComputers can give a new role to teaching materials. Without computers, students can not influence into the progression of the class content but computers can adapt to the student . Adapting to the student means that the student controls the learning way but also means that students can make choices in what and how to learn. Such control makes students feel more competent in their learning. Students tend to prefer exercises where they have control over content, such as branching stories, adventures, puzzles or logic problems. With these, the computer has the role of providing attractive context for the use of language rather than directly providing the language the student needs.
This is a paragraph of C.A.L.L is based on how the billingual student course are working in the computer room at the university of Cauca.
Now we are motivated to use the technology into the education, so we can apply new strategies for the english teaching...

ReplyDeleteAbout the activity four, I have to be sicere. I could read all the information, but it took me so long just to watch two videos, all because of the low internet signal in town. Any way, I think, as many people think nowadays, that English is the magic key that opens doors around the world. That is why, people from many countries have set themselves in the task of learning that language no matter what it costs. So that, it is very relevant for us to know how people from other cultures do to live this process, since it gives us an approach of the way we can tackle this situation from our own realities and necesities.

It is important to know how people in others countries are working this learning process and we can see how effective have been their methods and strategies to improve the acquisition of a foreign language.
In this regard, i would like we as english learners put into practice at least some of the seen activities in the video in order to improve and make stronger our process.

ReplyDeleteI am going to write two comments about activities 3 and 4 because last week I have problems to send the comment.
About activity three, I went through the interactive games on line and I found them very amusing. I have been working them with my students and they have been amused a lot. I think new technologies are useful to learn any language because the student can practice listennig, reading, writing and sometimes in a funny way.
About ACTIVITY 4, I saw the diferrent videos about how and why people from other countries learn english and it was interesting because people need english either in their jobs or to get a good job.
An experience that caught my attention was the video from spain because a teacher told the way how english is taught in school and she said that the teaching is focused on grammar and not in speaking. It remembered me how I learned english in school, It was almost in the same way. Another important thing in the videos was that some people said that the most difficult thing in learning english was to speak they were sometimes afraid of speaking and they thought first of their native language and then they speak and it was wrong. It happens to me. I think It was interesting to know other people`s experiences overall in China.China has become a world place for trade and there come people from all the world, it has done that people in china speak in english, That`s interesting.

ReplyDeleteAgain surprise with these videos they encourage me to improve my english level.In many case I have asked myself, what Am i doing? What happen with my english studies?Am i using the time correctly or I am losing the time? but now I could understand that learning process is very ,very long so we have to insist in it.In the video I could see how many people express many problems,We have to make mistakes but we have to correct it with the pass of the time.
Besides in the videos, I watched how the people open their mouth when they are speaking it is good, because We can observe them very carefully at the end, we can get the goal too.The true I sat down with enough motivation because I did not have idea about these good videos at the end I finished very happy.

ReplyDeletenowadays, to learn and to improve our skills in English is very important and it is necessary to be conscious of the habilities of our students and give them the opportunity to communicate in a real context.
the video project is a motivating, fun and interesting activity that encourage the students´s desire to know more about the best way to speak and to write in English. we as teachers can experience an agreeable opportunity of developing our fluency in the use of language, it is a good resource to learn grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation of some words etc. Reinforce in a best way the learning skills.

ReplyDeleteI saw the videos, I really like them because motivate our learning and help to improve my english in the listening, reading , pronunciation, grammar besides , the videos are a n excellent tool for motivating the interest of learning english. Our students can notice that english is very important in all the world and in any subject. I know that video project help me a lot because students need to listen other experiences, listen other voices and to know other cultures. Actually this is a very nice aid for english classes in different levels , I could make descriptions, oral practice, comments, drawings about the videos, etc...

Every tool used in the english class improve abilities in our students. We have to improve our method for teaching the English Language taking in mind that we must develop not only the grammatical aspect either speaking in the real context if we want to form competent students in all the abilities.

ReplyDeleteAlthough I don't like listening to no native speakers ( I don't wanna repeat others' mistakes),I watched the videos about learning english in different countries. It's interesting to see how teachers and students all over the world share the same ideas about the learning english-process. Those people don't like traditional methods. They preffer a communicative aproach. Unfortunately, our students have to take ICFES exam where they test just writing and reading skills, and we, the english teachers have to focus most of our classes on teaching such as boring grammar rules.

No matter the language people speak (depends on the country) English is the first or the second language people use to communicate, interact with the others. English has became a kind of bridge to join people, cultures,business, education, technology,....We as English teachers should transmit our love for English to our students in order to they can realize the importance of learning English as an essential tool to act everyday. It is very interesting to know opinions, experiences of people from different countries and cultures in learning/teaching English process.

ReplyDeleteI paid specially attention to the experience in Morocco at Casa Blanca school where students since 12 years old take all their classes in English in spite of having two more languages they need to know and speak. They already have clear which will English be used for, they need it for turism over all.
In our country English is just a L2 that will be used just in case the student travel abroad or if they keep studying a carrer, but it lacks to give all the importance it really has. It`s apassport to globalization and the communication world.

abaut activities learning english video project... i can see and understand , the videos are very interesting.. learn english is different in others counties, but for we as a teachers is very usefull this phrases this topics, I can undestand that learn english is a process, we can make mistakes in grammar, we do not understand native speakers, we can have nervous... all of this may be normal, but in other way if we study a lot, very hard we can improve our english level.

The video shows aspects of English Learning around the world by asking learners about their experiences, goals, difficulties, methods and achievements. Besides, hearing tips and advice from learners and teachers in a world where English Language is very necessary and important to business and communicate with foreigner people.
In this case,English is important in the aviation industry because it's the only common language, all the information, all the equipment and other things...is all in english, so we have to learn it and we must improve this language in order to transmit better knowledge in the students.

ReplyDeleteThis video project is the oportunity to show to the students that lerning English is very important around all the world.
It´s a great experience to notice that in the five continents there are lots of persons learning English for different reasons, using different methods and aproaches to the English.
I like the resources of the video project, they are very interesting; for example, self study materials, classroom materials, and overall the videos that we can use if we download to the computer. Thats a great tool for the teacher.
I think that it is a very good activity. the project offers a great variety of topics whit each video. Grammar, speaking, reading, listening, games, I mean, it´s a very complete program. One special part of the project is "FOR TEACHRES" There we can find plans, tips, and other excellent ideas for our work as teachers.

ReplyDeleteThe Internet is such a splendid tool for communicating with people and finding out how people are doing things differently all over the world
I think new technologies are useful to learn any language because the student can practice, listening, reading, writing and sometimes in a funny way.
The video, the news and reports of VOA Special English Education language in Internet is a great helpful to learn and practice the English language, because not only we can read many articles, but also we can hear native speakers, moreover it´s possible to repeat them some times as we want in order to understand the conversation.

ReplyDeleteBased on the video we can say that English is extremely important not only if you wish to emigrate to an English speaking country or learn it by culture, also because English is the language of business, although not is the language most spoken in the world (considering the number of people who speak it) is undoubtedly the language in which it develops the vast majority of businesses in the world, not by the importance of that language we must feel some frustration by the way how we speaking English, with constant and practice you can get to perfect.
